About

Disappointment. Confusion. Frustration.

When it’s not throbbing, your head is spinning. How can this be?

“It’ll be super easy to change!” they said. “Just don’t do X (the bad thing).” Or “Just start doing Y (this new good habit).” And at the same time, they all tell you how hard it is to quit, eat right, or live with an injury.

If it’s so easy to change, maybe someone – just one single person – could give you a piece of advice that actually sounds feasible – or achievable by a real person living your life with your constraints.

Simple, right?

Their platitudes are all well and good – problem solved in one easy step.

Except the step is like someone giving you financial advice to “just be a millionaire!”

Or athletic advice like “just run faster than the others” while you’re on track with Usain Bolt on one side and Marcell Jacobs on the other. (Don’t worry – I don’t run, either.)

But the real problem is that this is not a fun run, and you are not paired up with a couple of friendly professional athletes just here for promo pics.

This is your life. While it may have started as a fun run, what’s chasing you feels distinctly more high stakes than a shoe store with a sponsorship deal.

It keeps you running.

Actually, it does feel more like a sprint for your life. You’re struggling to keep ahead of all the demands while you’re being chased.

Not by the paparazzi, but more like a lion. You don’t dare even look back – you just know you’ve got to go for broke when all you really want is to take a break and be at peace for even just five minutes – without constant fear of being eaten alive.

And all the while, your friends and colleagues are on the sidelines screaming, “Run faster, you idiot!” Your detractors are urging you to “Give it up; there’s no point,” or “It’s too hard; nobody ever escapes.”

It would drive you to distraction even if it weren’t life or death serious. So there you are, more frustrated than ever – with no realistic exit plan.

And it’s killing you.

You know it.

Sure, not today. Not right this minute. You’re tougher than that.

But you know you can’t keep this up forever. Obviously, you need to quit or get your health right and manage the pain that’s eating you up inside – without poisoning your body.

But how?

You need a secret weapon.

You may have heard the phrase, “If you are not cheating, you’re not trying.”

While I don’t think the sporting world benefits from the use of performance-enhancing drugs or cutting corners, I do understand the drive to have that competitive edge, that little something extra – when the stakes are high. It seems everyone and their pet lion want to run you down.

But you’re not Special Forces or a “double-0” agent. How can you access the sort of secrets that make daily life effortless and open you up to saving the day and doing something meaningful with your time?

How could you get one?

And who might you become if you had one?

Would you be doom scrolling through your newsfeed while smoking a cigarette because it’s as close to a break as you’re ever going to get – or something else?

Would you be loading up on the comfort food because it’s the only solace that won’t let you down, or nourishing yourself with something better?

Would you pop another pain reliever just so you could focus, or is there – somehow – a better way?

And how would it feel?

If you respected yourself enough to create space to activate a secret weapon for your life?

If you stood up to all of the constant chimes, beeps, rings, demands, and interruptions for just three hours? Just three hours to empower yourself?

Would pride be more important? Self-respect? Relief? Or some other feeling?

But what if that were only the beginning?

How will you feel when you emerge from a secret weapon session impervious to the jaws and claws of those menacing lions?

Will you revel in the dominance and power, or just savor total peace and connection?

A Different Kind of Magic

Many people think there’s a special magic to hypnosis, and I agree with them, but it’s nothing like cartoons or movies.

It can be wonderful to see a hypnotist in person in their office, but the real magic doesn’t happen in a totally safe place.

The real magic is who you become as you face your old troublesome triggers and environments.

In a Different Setting

That’s why you best serve yourself to Zoom call from home.

Yes, it’s easier and more convenient to skip the commute, traffic, and the frantic search for a parking space. But the real reward is immediate results. You don’t have to wait to get back home to see that it worked – you’ll know right away.

Better yet, you‘ll still be connected with your hypnotist live on video when you check that everything works in your home – so you can reinforce anywhere you need it before you have trouble.

Big Game Hunting

Tobacco, weight, and pain – three of the largest and deadliest lions in the pride – have a reputation for being lifelong chronic maneaters.

Many people believe it’s next to impossible to stay not smoking or keep to a diet. Chronic pain sufferers have better and worse days, but rarely ever pain-free days.

That’s the problem with most typical approaches. But it’s also why I love hearing from people who used a hypnotist decades ago to vanquish them – to stop smoking, lose weight, or otherwise change their life, and decades later are still telling everyone they meet about how it was the best decision they ever made.

The Element of Surprise

Some folks have their doubts – only to discover that a month or more has slipped by without so much as a single cigarette and any suffering or worry about it. Rare individuals don’t even give it another thought until months later.

But most folks sit up comfortably listening and speaking for their whole session and remember everything we said.

You might experience it like a very good conversation with a friend. Often, the time seems to fly by. We may share smiles and laughter, and sometimes there can be darker moments. But you’ll always feel safe – knowing that each conversation is okay.

Fact v. Fiction

Ah, Hollywood. It’s produced some epic art, and it’s a permanent fixture in our culture. But it isn’t always known for accurate portrayals of real life.

Not surprisingly, there are a lot of stereotypical portrayals of hypnosis – of people losing control and doing silly or hilarious things under the “power” of the hypnotist.

But the more realistic truth is that it’s about empowering you to regain control of your behavior and align it with your physical and financial health.

And in the end, you get off the call feeling fantastic and ready to take on the world.

About Me

A Lifelong Hunger

Fascinated by the physical sciences, I’ve always wanted to know how things work. I remember as a child starting to read books from the end – and then having to turn page after page back toward the start to discover how I got to the end.

The insatiable curiosity and desire to know and learn have been with me for as long as I can remember.

I’m not sure when I added the layer of wanting what I learned to be helpful to the people around me, but I’d find myself reading or listening to something and trying to memorize the information just in case one of my friends might someday need to know that thing.

Like Father, Like Son

As is common growing up, I learned much from my family – just taking the behaviors, thoughts, and feelings, I fell into as the only things that could be right for me. Growing up in a family of five, four of us were overweight (little brother was the little one), it seemed only natural that I take after my dad.

He and I were the least in shape in the family. And my asthma was right there with the weight for my whole childhood.

To a Point

As I grew up and started to make my own choices, I lived a life that no one else in the family would choose. I brought my weight under my control.

Eventually, I saw my hypnosis mentor (RIP JS) remedy my dangerous horse allergy.

Understanding My Own Journey

I spent over 20 years working in funeral homes (Dad talked me into that, too). That was never part of my plan, but it was hard to go back once I realized I was helping people. How could I not support folks going through their grief?

It is true – I saw many very terrible things, stories with sad endings and much suffering along the way. Yet, I’ve also seen many people reach the end in love and be proud of the life they have lived.

I’ve been inside homes on every point of the economic scale. I’ve been there for folks who have died alone and those surrounded by three or four generations of people who adored them.

So, sure – every story ends – but it’s the “how.”

But the ones who really started to eat at me were those who died of cancers and COPD – all the classical smoking-related illnesses. I noticed a strong bias toward “cigarettes-are-all-I-have-left” on one side of the economic scale.

And despite warnings from hospice not to mix oxygen with cigarettes (honestly, that was usually how I knew I was at the right place), if family members were present, they would all usually be smoking.

They had just witnessed the worst-case scenario play out over months or years with someone they loved. How could they ever smoke again after seeing that?

And most people already say they want to quit.

So, what can change such a dangerous fate if scare tactics don’t work?

I learned that hypnosis is the most effective method to help people quit smoking, and I knew that I had to be part of releasing people from nicotine.

At first, I tried to learn by listening to recordings, but I quickly realized I needed proper training and certification. Certification only opened my eyes to how many more things I didn’t know.

So, I traveled the world to work with all the best trainers and mentors I could find. Eventually, I led an informal “stop smoking” practice group for other hypnotists at Hypnotherapy University.

We all make choices.

We’re all marked by our experiences. We can allow our pasts to torment us – OR we can deliberately choose to use them for training for the future. I’ve harnessed the terrible things I’ve seen to show how and where to make the best use of my efforts, and I can do the same for you.

While it’s true that smoking was my first area of passion and focus, I want you to know you can dream – and live – bigger than you’ve ever dared hope.

The limitations you’re used to are NOT the limits of your abilities.

Let me show you all you can truly be.
